Richmonder Kelley Williamson just launched a new high heel designed to be worn all day.
Why it matters: If you've got $600 to spare, you can dance your way through wedding season without a pair of flip flops crammed in your clutch.
State of play: Williamson created her line of heels, Kelley Kouture, after a health-driven foot surgery left her without the ability to wear the shoes she'd always loved.
- Instead of facing a life in flats, Williamson got to work creating a new heel style — one engineered for balance and comfort.
How it works: The crux of the design is the "K Heel," a patent-pending design the company says helps distribute weight more evenly.
- Each shoe also features cushioned insoles, supportive footbeds and slip-resistant soles, all of which is meant to improve comfort, even in the brand's tallest 3.4-inch heel.
